ROR Situation based Question (Trawler).

Q.1 What shape must a trawler show when trawling by day?

Ans. 2 cones, apex together, in a vertical line, one above the other


Q.2 Trawler is making way during night and engaged in trawling. What lights does it show?

Ans. a)All-round green over all-round white.
b) A masthead steaming light, higher than and abaft the green light (>50 metres).
c) Sidelights and a stern light ( only when making way )

Q.3 The trawler comes across a vessel towing that is not showing Restricted in Ability to Manoeuvre shapes: should it keep out of his way, or should the RAM vessel keep clear of the trawler?

Ans. The towing vessel should keep out of the fishing vessel’s way. If, however, the towing vessel was RAM, it would be the other way round.
